Nailsea is one of the easiest places to train with us from, because you have two good options: a ten-minute drive, or one stop on the train. Samurai Fitness is in Yatton, just down the A370 corridor.
By car it is a short run south — typically ten to fifteen minutes depending on traffic through Backwell. There is free parking on site.
By train, Nailsea & Backwell station is a single stop from Yatton on the Great Western line towards Weston-super-Mare. If you already use that station to commute into Bristol Temple Meads, adding a Wednesday evening session on the way home is genuinely straightforward.
That rail link is the reason Nailsea members tend to be our most consistent attenders — the journey never becomes the excuse.
Get DirectionsNailsea sends us a mix: Bristol commuters who want something after work that is not another gym session, and parents who train on Saturday mornings while the rest of the weekend is still ahead of them.
The Wednesday 7:30pm class is the popular one with this group. It is late enough to get back from Bristol, change, and still make it on the mats without sprinting.
Samurai Fitness is led by Chris Last — a former Royal Marine Commando with 24 years of service, and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt under the Chamberlain Brothers at the Roger Gracie Academy Bristol, where he remains part of the coaching team.
He has trained across the United States, Thailand and Brazil, and is a qualified PT, fitness instructor, coach and mentor. In practice that means classes are run properly: structured, safe, and with actual attention paid to whoever is newest in the room.
